The Pros And Cons Of Trade Show Exhibit Rentals

Trade show rentals are becoming an increasingly attractive option as more and more exhibitors are opting to rent instead of purchasing a booth. But renting a trade show exhibit doesn't make sense for everybody? Have a look at some of the positives and negatives on renting an exhibit.
The cost of renting is one of the short term advantages. On average, you will pay roughly one third of the purchase price of an exhibit when you rent. Trade show rentals are becoming an increasingly popular. More and more exhibitors are deciding to rent instead of purchasing a booth. In addition, some other benefits include: 1). You don't have to store an exhibit, 2). You don’t have to worry about damage. Shipping damage is always a concern especially if the damage can’t be repaired in time for the beginning of the trade show but when it ends it will be the exhibit rental business that has to pay for any repairs. 3) On the subject of damage it won't be your concern if a union forklift driver rams into the exhibit crate. 4). Show labor is not your concern. Electrical services will still be your responsibility but the exhibit house will handle the installation and dismantling. 5). You can leave when the show ends or even sneak out a little before it's over because you don't have to worry about the tear down and shipping arrangements. The convenience of renting is what makes this a popular way to go.

The disadvantages of  trade show display rentals, especially with the lower end models, has to do with design options. A custom designed booth with corporate colors and graphics is hard to beat. The show contractor will offer rentals that  look much the same. There is always the risk that you will have rented the same exact booth as your show neighbor. Carpet provided by the show contractor may be showing it's age. Using an outside rental company may alleviate some of these considerations since they will have different exhibiting systems than the show contractor. In addition, an exhibit company that is privately owned will likely have higher standards and properties in better condition. My suggestion for companies preferring to rent is to order a booth with a lot of graphics. Custom graphics will cost more but provide the advantage of a custom looking display. Finally, if a company is doing a lot of shows they will end up paying a lot more if they rent. This is offset for many by having the liberty of just showing up for the show and leaving when it's finished.
