Max Lucado is brilliant in Fearless
Now more than ever we are bombarded with continual bad news. Stressors include: economic strife, job losses, financial downturns, religious wars and the general day to day pressures of living in the first world. As a result of these nerve wracking times, fear is a common thread that we all share in 2010. In Fearless, Max Lucado's easy reading style combined with his powerful story telling ability help the reader to address the many anxieties with which most of us struggle..
Several fears addressed in “Fearless” include:
Fear of not mattering.
Fear of disappointing God.
Fear for my children.
Fear of violence.
Fear of death.
Fear that God may not in fact be real.
Fear of individuality.
Throughout the book, Lucado candidly reveals his own fears and struggles. He draws on real experiences and his need to surrender those fears to Christ. Ultimately, Lucado communicates that the central key to dealing with life’s fears begin and end in Christ. Jesus desires that we live a victorious life of abundance, but unfortunately fear can prevent this from happening.. With words of wisdom and biblical truth, Max suggests that our fears can not be conquered in human strength but rather only by trusting Jesus.
Max Lucado reinforces the topics addressed throughout Fearless by providing a practical discussion guide for individual or group use. We probably should not be surprised by the fact that the amount of bad news is increasing exponentially.. Fearless offers hope, inspiration and life- change. This book will remind you of the Christian’s desire for Christ to be central and is definitely a resource that you will want on your bookshelf.
