Might I suggest your local library? If they have any college textbooks like Introduction to Business, that’ll be a really good start for an overview on the different phases of business. Your library will also have a number of books that can help you with writing business plans, business startups, introductory accounting, basic business law, and so much more.

You need to narrow your search a bit. So start with wikipedia.org to find out the full range of aspects of business; i.e. accounting, finance, marketing, strategy, production, operations, etc..)
Start somewhere… then try more details with wikipedia.org or google (any search engine) and find more detailed materials.
Eventually you should find yourself looking at Amazon.com and finding books related to the specific topic you have chosen. Amazon has a good reputation for collecting honest reviews about almost every book that has any merit.
ex: If you find that a book is 1-2 years old and many people have rated it well (i.e. many have written positive opinions - which you have easy access to right there with each book) you probably can trust that its a good book.
And Amazon also has a secondary market (used or re-sold books) which often offers books for much less than the “NEW” price.
