Garage sales, estate sales, etc. Some also go to auctions and buy numbered lots of books.
Check with your local libraries. After so many years, they throw out hundreds of books. Our local library has a room full of boxes of books they are getting rid of and anyone can take them…for free! Also check your local flea market because alot of people buy, sell, and trade books there. You can find them for like a quarter a piece!

For selling online you could use. Its FREE for the sellers. It lets you accept PayPal and Google Checkout.
I have been using this site for selling my art work and i have to say it a great service. You could save alot. Hope helped.
I am a book lover, and I often stop at garage sales. They are usually sold very very cheap. And thrift stores often have books for 50c paperback/$1 hardcover.
If you want to get serious about it and go thru the whole rigamorole of getting a business license, resellers permit, etc, I would definitely recommend selling at swap meets too.
Did you know that some book publishers will sell you NEW books at 50% the cover price if you buy them wholesale? Also, if you are unable to sell them, they will buy back your unsold books (with a discount)? It’s one of the rare businesses that actually will take back unsold stock.
