Do you have resume book suggestions on turning self employment small business ownership into a real resume?

business books
Kiss My Turkey asked:

I have owned and operated a very successful business for 4 years. I need to quit the business and get a real job in order to get health benefits for my kids.

What books do you suggest?

What ideas do you have?
My better half got laid off & is going back to school. This is how we lost benefits.

There are many examples on the internet…you don’t need to buy a book. Stress your skills: self-motivation, excellent interpersonal skills, project planning, etc. etc…List your clients, how much you brought in per year. You don’t state what the business was, so it’s hard to help you. Resumes look good if you back up statements with figures. Don’t state the reason you want to work for a company is health benefits…start out with “wanting to expand my knowledge of xxxx; work with teams of people (many people that are self-employed work at home and end up isolated). Be cautious, companies will sometimes see your background as a negative asset, that you won’t work as a peer with others, given you have been “running things” for so long. Good luck! With your small business you can still get health benefits for your kids. Why not try to encourage more customer to buy your product. Increasing your sales means more revenue and another ladder for your business to climb. So do not just focus on getting a real job. Since you have your own business, make it bigger and bigger.
